MidasLab PhD graduate Dr. Arezou Rahimi and her thesis advisor Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Gönen’s study titled “Efficient Multitask Multiple Kernel Learning with Application to Cancer Research” has been accepted to be published in “IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics” journal (IF: 11.079), which is ranked 5th out of 137 journals in the field of artificial intelligence. In this study, they developed machine learning algorithms that can efficiently combine genomic information collected from different cancer types into a conjoint model instead of building disease-specific machine learning models.
